It is not the most used route by pilgrims of the four existing routes in France, but its route along the coast and the absence of steep slopes make the Voie du Littoral an ideal route for all walkers.

This route enters the Landes at Sanguinet and for about 150 km follows the Atlantic Coast to the entrance of Baiona. The route passes through the following towns:

    • Sanguinet
    • Parentis-en-Born
    • Saint-Paul-en-Born
    • Mimizan (where the bell tower - portico is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site)
    • Bias
    • Lit-et-Mixe
    • Vielle
    • Moliets-et-Maa (with traces left by the Templars)
    • Messanges
    • Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains
    • Hossegor
    • Capbreton (also with traces left by the Templars)

The entire route of this coastal route of the Way of St. James in Landes is marked with small blue and yellow signs with the official symbol of the scallop, thanks to the volunteers of the Société Landaise des Amis de Saint-Jacques et d’Etudes Compostellanes.

If you need more specific details of the route, the same association has a pdf on its website where it indicates each of the paths to be taken and the exact mileage of each point:: link to pdf.
